FALLOUT TALE OF 2 WASTELANDS GAME VERSION REQUIREMENT HOW TO
He gives a walkthrough of how to install them, shows them in action, gives you rundowns of options. Oh! Another good resource is Gopher's videos on modding Fallout (3 and New Vegas). If you start seeing 'Type3' bodies or whatever it is everywhere, that's what it's talking about. Most of them are targeted at the Adult crowd, but should have options to remain fairly normal. If the skeletal structure and body proportions in stock fallout bother you, there are many that address it.

There are also mods that add companions, like Willow.ġ0. Some just fix the existing companions, and might actually be covered under larger mods. I find these are one of the safer types to ignore for a while and add if you're interested and have the time to browse the catalogĩ. Some of the simplest mods just add a thing into the game, or change an existing thing. Really, you probably just want one, and it is probably either Nevada Skies or Fellout. Changing loot drop rates and ragdoll/violence is super nice, too.ħ. The grenade hotkey is so ridiculously nice that it defies description, but I find myself ignoring bullet time completely. Project Nevada remains my favorite of these, since it's modular and allows customization. One of the latter basically improves every face in the game and is spectacular for improving the look of the game in ways you never even knew you wanted.Ħ. There are texturs packs and face revamps. Most PC players consider them essential.ĥ. Mission Mojave should have you covered there.Ĥ. All things that help stability and reduce the impact of crashes, but they are a little trickier to get going than your typical mods.ģ.

System mods, like the 4g fix and/or Full Screen Borderless Windowed mode, or the fix for autosaving. Fallout Script Extender (FOSE), which enables the bigger mods, so I consider it essential.Ģ. Some mods mention other related mods, so you can continue to hunt that way, or check out all the mods that the same author makes, etc.Īs far as I know, the core things to do/consider are:ġ. Some lists float around on wikias and so forth about what's 'essential', but it's really up to your tastes. Most of the essentials are there, and you can even shop around a little, but it's an easy way to see what people are frequently using. When I first started looking for mods, aside from asking around here, I went to Nexus and had it list the most endorsed mods for New Vegas of all time.

I think they only exceptions were the JSawyer mod and DARNified UI. I get almost all my mods from the Nexus site.

FOMM takes a modicum of practice, but it does indeed check them on/off, let you set load order, and you can import complex mods very easily. I still use Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) for New Vegas, but I think they have something newer now on the Nexus that fulfills the same function. I've found some places but almost all those sites have things about them that make me not trust them very much.

For example, is there a good mod manager that loads a bunch of mods where you can check them on/off? Is there a place where it just has a list of mods, what they do, and a link to download them, etc. I know mods have been talked about a bit, but is there a one-stop shop for mods or something? I might would like to start another game with some mods but forums/etc I've gotten from searching either have information so scattered as to be hard to put together or just hard to find good information.
